Nepali Cultural Dress


Nepal is blessed with one of the richest cultures in the world.The culture of Nepal is reflected by the manners,dress ,language,rituals ,norms and values.

Daura-Suruwal, typically is the traditional Nepali dress for men. The dress has several religious beliefs identifying its designs and has therefore remained the same from the years. The Daura has eight strings that serves to tie itself up around the body. Eight is the lucky number in Nepali mythology.

Also, the Daura has five pleats or Kallis, signifying Pancha Buddha or Pancha Ratna. And the closed neck of the Daura signifies the snake around the Lord Shiva's neck. The Nepali dress for women is a cotton sari (Guniu), which is gaining great popularity in the fashion world.

Importance of dressing sense

Appearance is the most important factor in our daily life style.Now a days in our current society a person appearance, dressing and clothing does matter a lot.People judge other by the way he/she dress up.It is said to be the reflection of a person's personality as well as it reflects the occasion for which the individual person attends. Although every people have  different tastes, cultures and behavioral of works but it is necessary for them to pay attention on how they look and what they wear. Dresses or cloths  are divided into casuals wear, formal wear, comfort wear and traditional wear. As classified above those all are situational and occasional wears. Here the main role is played by the issue of dressing sense, it comes in to picture .That means providing sense for situation and relating our dress to a particular dress.We should wear the dress by using our sense and   interest.Dressing sense doesn't only mean situational wearing of cloths but it also states the color combinations of your wear.
